Project Life Tuesday Week 6

Oh how the weeks seem to be passing by so quickly !!!!

I love nothing more than sitting at my dinning room table each Sunday for an hour and working on my Project Life Spread.. There is something so therapeutic about the whole process ..

Here is my spread ...

One thing I have learnt with PL, there is no right or wrong, just go with what's inspiring you at that moment ..

Even though my spread looks different each week in terms of colour and core kits used, there are a few things which I have tried to keep in each spread .

  • 2 4x6 photos
  • 4 smaller photos which I cut down depending on the card I am going to put it on .
  • I stitch on at least 2 of the cards.
  • I try to mirror the embellishments I use on one side onto the other..

So how about you, do you follow a theme each week ??? or do you go with what's inspiring you at the time ?? I would love to know :)

Christmas Gift Wrap Ideas ....

For me one of the fun things about the holidays or celebrations is wrapping gifts.

I am trying to be a bit more organised this year and wrap as I buy, using this gift list has been a real help too :)

The element of excitement and surprise to key to wrapping :) and a little extra thought is always welcomed ..

So to help you with some gift wrapping inspiration, here are some of my favourite ideas ..

Do you have a colour scheme for your wrapping , traditional or modern ??

I think I am going with teal and black this year ..

Have you started wrapping your gifts yet ??

Feature Friday with Life a la Med

This Friday starts the beginning of many featured bloggers and/or shop owner posts in hope to introduce some new "eye candy" and inspiration. Please join me to welcome Laura of Life a la Med

What inspires you?

Lately I find myself noticing and being inspired by certain aspects of different people. For instance, with school it is a challenge to make creativity a priority. Luckily, I discovered project life thanks to Elise Blaha[http://eliseblaha.typepad.com/]. She introduced me to the method and helped me see that this is something I could do even with limited time!
Lauren Fairweather[http://www.youtube.com/user/devilishlypure/videos], a youtuber / plushie creator / wizard rock singing amazing person, inspires me with her smiles and positive attitude. Every word she says just Sounds happy. Watch just one of her videos and withing the first 5 seconds I'm fairly certain you'll catch her infectious smile.
David Karp [http://tmagazine.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/09/11/david-karp-is-tumblrs-reluctant-technologist/], the creator behind tumblr inspires me with the way he uses technology yet pairs back and lives a fairly analog life at home.
I'm consistantly inspired by people in my class who work so hard for the things that they want, and by Emily Graclie [http://www.youtube.com/user/thebrainscoop/featured] the brilliant host of Brain Scoop is dorky, smart, and driven. I am definitely inspired by her drive and dedication to her chosen field.

Share an interesting fact about yourself.

I went to the same school for 13 years of my life and graduated with a class of just 19 people. OH I also have a snake named Edgar (after Edgar Allan Poe) who has his own Instagram tag (#edgarexploresthings), have several tattoos and love sign language.

List a few favourite past times.

Reading. This may be a "stereotypical" answer but if I start in on a book I like, I may very well not sleep and choose reading instead. I also play the Sims to unwind sometimes. It doesn't require much mental effort but is visually rewarding and something I can get lost in for a little bit. Basically things that let me dive into another persona / life / situation for a while. I have also enjoyed just getting to look in the little windows of some really cool peoples' lives online via their blogs lately.

What's your favourite movie?

This is a terribly difficult question. I love Sherlock (the first Robert Downy Jr. one), I heart "You've got mail" because I used to watch it when I was in high school and undergrad and it is just associated with happy and comfy.

What is your most prized possession?

Most used? Laptop/phone. Most prized? a small stuffed giraffe named TipTop. He is featured in our internet password and goes on vacation in my suitcase. Yes I'm going to technically be a doctor in 2 and a half years, no I am not ashamed.

What would you like to learn to do?

This is such a big question. Right now I'm working very slowly to learn to become a fantastic pathologist someday. I'm learning, just as slowly, to self-motivate and balance learning with the rest of life.
Even though most of my learning-brain-power is kind of dedicated to that, I love learning more about using Photoshop and Illustrator when I can.

Change ...

Source

If you have been a reader of my blog for a while, you will have noticed that over the weekend I made a huge change to my blog. The name, design and over-all feel .

So today's post is to share with you why i made the changes..

Why ?

Blogging for me has always been a reflection of myself, what I love, hobbies, colours and inspiration .. So, as in real life sometimes you need to change things in order to be happy, this goes for my blog too.

I have been blogging for over 3 years now, on different platforms under different blog names, I feel I have learnt a lot, but the one thing that I do know is I need to follow my heart and go with what makes me happy ..

Lemon Paper Designs (my blogs previous name) was a really big part of my life last year, I started LPD as a way to showcase my esty shop and share my love of paper.. I was lucky enough that my shop was successful and for a while i was content, but then came a point were I wasn't enjoying it any-more and i decided to put my shop on vacation mode.. I was still left with the blog LPD and for a while it was nice just to have one focus on the blog, paper..

After months debating about making a change or possibly not blogging any-more I talked to this friend her encouragement and support help me make, what I hope will be my last change to the blog.

What will Change ?

Mostly content, I want to share with you more projects, recipes, inspiration, favourite and just everyday life.. I have also decided to open up some Ad swap spaces..

What will Stay ??

Craft, Create & Inspire linky party will stay!!!  I will also continue to share my scrapbook layouts and project life spreads..

I would love to hear your thoughts..

Project Life Tuesday Week 5

This weeks spread was most made using Studio Calico's Cuppa kit .. I love the gold embossed card ..

I like that each week is different and represents what I am loving right now, in terms of colour, establishments and quotes ..

And the little touches of stitching are my favourite technique ..

Here are a few close ups !!

What's your favourite thing about Project Life ???
