WOMWD #6

Happy Wednesday friends :)

A little later than I usually post, but I went with my friend to a play school with my youngest, she loved it (plenty of bricks/Lego which wins her over) it was nice to catch up too !

Its been a cold but sunny week, so far perfect for taking those project photos outside !!!

I finished the Studio Calico Christmas cards last night and stamped "Merry Christmas" into each of them..

Here is my Desk this week ..

I received my Studio Calico kits (scrapbook and Project Life) yesterday, so couldn't wait to create with it last night.  I already had the photo printed and the brick paper fitted the theme perfectly ..

I challenge myself to create at least 3 layouts per month using just the kit and maybe a few extras . I especially love the stamp set this month " I love this" ... I think it will be on so many of my projects ..

Studio Calico Scrapbook Layout #1

I have been a subscriber to Studio Calico for the past 6 months !!! believe me when i say its like a little piece of Christmas every time my kit arrives ..

I currently receive the Scrapbook kit, but in the past I have also had Project Life and a card kit , which are both excellent but the Scrapbook kit is for me (although I am thinking of starting Project Life next year)

I thought it would be fun to share with you the layouts I make using these kits ..

I used a variety of techniques for this layout, including embroidery, sewing and the gorgeous Pan Pastels... the green coffee stain ..

The great thing about Studio Calico is, the community feeling and you don't have to look far for some inspiration..

I have a few more layouts in mind, which I will be back to show you soon !!!

August BAP (Prima Sketch Challenge)

If you have been reading my blog over the past few months, you will know how much i love Prima Products!!

I was so happy to find that they have a monthly sketch challenge!

Its really difficult to find a UK based stockist, with a wide range of products, so the main problem i faced with this challenge was using 90% Prima products, however i did order a class kit directly from Prima last month and was able to use the papers in the layout ...

Here is the sketch.

Here is my layout inspired by this sketch ...

I love that these colours co-ordinate with the colours of the photo, which by the way is my oldest 2 girls on our family holiday earlier this year, those water guns kept them entertained for hours and hours ....

The paper is from the Leeza Gibbons "Wishes & Dreams" collection

Whats on my Work Desk .....

It has been a busy, busy past few weeks...

I am glad that all the celebrations have come to an end and that I am able to enjoy some quality time with the girls before they return back to school in the next few weeks...

I have tried to make sometime for some midnight crafting at least every other night. its the perfect remedy after a stressful day..

So here is what's on my work desk ...

I have a few finished projects like, the Prima Scrapbook page and the Prima Frame, which I need to find the perfect place for....

Here is a close up of those beautiful flowers.....

I also have a (WIP) Work In Progress.. a mini album and an unfinished card ...

 

 

 

I need to finish the pockets and attach them to the album and then the fun part embellish it !!!

 



I also have a basket where I keep all my WIP and fun embellishment's, papers and miscellaneous items...

Sketchbook 365 Challenge layout

Scrap365 is my favourite magazine , I have been wanting to take part in one of their sketchbook 365 challenges for a while..

So here is my entry for the August Sketch Challenge, which closes August 8th , so you still have time to enter too!!

Here is the sketch.

I personally love this layout..

Here is my interpretation...

I used mostly this months Studio Calico scrapbook kit (my favourite so far)..

I wanted to the colours to reflect the photo, so pink from my baby girl and the yellow/gold of the Egyptian sand..

These cork Thickers were also part of the kit and match the theme beautifully.

I included a doilie and a glassine bag.

There are some really great layouts inspired by this sketch too..

Layered scrapbook page

This is my first scrapbook layout from our holiday to Egypt...

When I took this photo, sat enjoying the warm sun. I knew that it would make the perfect scrapbook page......

I wanted to shadow the colours of flags in the layout, which for me was a great help as sometimes choosing a colour combination can be the hardest part...

I love to Stich on my projects and even though my machine "skipped" a few stitched (not sure why) I like the way it turned out.

The majority of this layout was created using Studio Calico Junes kit .. I love the Urban Traveller chipboard stickers .

I decided not to journal on the front of this layout. So I used a journalling card to slide into the glassine bag ..

Oops I almost forgot, I splattered Mr Hueys on the paper to start ;)

JOT MAGAZINE

I have to admit I have loved reading through this magazine with my cup of tea this morning!

This made me smile .....

Today's class prompt is about photos and I am going to tell you about this one ....

This was taken yesterday using my iPhone 5 edited using instagram.
I chose this photo as this girl, she melts my heart... She loves everything pink!! Including pink (strawberry) ice cream .
These are the little moments that I love to capture, all to soon she will be at part time school and moments like this will be harder to soak up.
She is growing up way to fast.
Looking forward to Turing this photo into a scrapbook page, any guesses on the colour I will use :)

Inspire .... Mini Album

I blogged on Sunday about my intentions for my blog over the next 3 weeks and goals for the future .... And my chosen word "INSPIRE" ..

I had so much fun making this cute mini album on Sunday afternoon ...

It's the perfect size for adding notes and thoughts, also great for carrying around too !

I used my Studio Calico March scrapbook kit to make it, using the majority of my favourite designers paper and embellishments !!

 

Looking forward to filling it up and seeing where this journey takes me !

 

 

 

Inspire ......

For the last couple of weeks I have been working my way through a couple awesome online classes over @ Shimelle.com

Although blogging isn't new to me I used to blog here , starting a blog with "clearer" intension is. I know that I want to share my love of crafting with paper with you, my shop and a place to stop by where you can leave feeling inspired to have a go at your own projects..

I also wanted to add the fun element back into blogging !

So taking the Scrapbooking for Bloggers class, is just perfect to help me set goals and achieve them..

So prompt one is to clarify my personal intentions! I chose the word "INSPIRE" as that what I hope to achieve not only for my readers but for myself too!

This is the photo I took with my IPhone, showing how I blog, currently on my iPad, one of my favourite designers Amy Tangerine and some of my favourite embelishments !

I also photographed the layout with my camera too !! I treated myself to a new canon printer this weekend !! So I can finally print my photos and use them in my projects !! Cannot tell you how excited I have been..

So instead of using the photo on a scrapbook page I intend on making a mini album of my blog, goals, hopes and thoughts..

This is my Sunday afternoon plan ;) but will see how the girls behave ..

NSD Challange 24 - MILESTONE

This past weekend celebrated NSD ( National Scapbooking Day ). To celebrate this awesome day Two Peas in a Bucket set some Scapbooking challenges !!

 

So, not to miss out on the fun I decided to scrapbook a page for one of the challenges..

 

Challenge number 24 ! Is Scrapbook a Milestone

I couldn't find the photograph I wanted for this page :( however I did find a cute polariod of my youngest daughter having her feet measured and her first shoes..

 

This was a huge milestone for her, up until then she hated shoes and spent the first year in socks or nothing at all!!

How funny another year makes , as now she loves!! Shoes and everybody else's.

Doing what you love ....

This past weekend I had the opportunity to "Do what I love"

It's not very often (at all) that I have a day off, especially on a Saturday ! But that's when great family comes in to help look after the girls, so I could spend the day paper crafting !!

It was lovely to learn new techniques, work with new products and spend time with other people who have an equal love of paper..

Here's what I crafted !!

 

I made this cute hostess box, which you can keep notecards and envelopes.

 

Gift card holder :)

Mini card , loved this stamp set and co-ordinating punch !!

And I also made a mini album, which is the project right at the back, here is the inside...

I loved making this, I am planning on making another one for my mums birthday ...

I also made a thank you card for my aunty who looked after my girls.

All the products used on the day were by Stampin Up including the stamp sets and punches ...

It was a great day, lots of laughs and giggles and it was nice to see Victoria again !!

Here's to doing what you love !!!!

 

Friday Favourite .... sequins

I don't know about you, but I love anything that has a bit of a shimmer and sparkle !

That's one of the great things about paper craft, you can take the things you love and included them in your creations.

That's why today I added pocket hearts filled with vibrant sequins to the shop, so you can add a touch a shimmer and sparkle to your layouts...

So, Sequins are this weeks Friday Favourite.
